Our New Study – Programming Brains Across Generations

We are now extending the original study to investigate environmental and genetic factors that impact addictive behaviour, such as smoking, and mental health in three generations of your family. We wish to determine how genes and various environmental factors, such as diet and sleep, influence the health of your brain and body.

We are now inviting you – the parents of all the adolescents who have already participated in the Saguenay Youth Study - to participate in this new research endeavour. We will be also asking your children – many of whom are young adults by now – as well as your parents to take part in a questionnaire-based follow up.

By including three generations of your family, we will be able to chart the development of your family over time, looking at differences and similarities across generations.
